Passion for hockey is hard to define. Passion can range from the die-hard fan to the die-hard player. Hockey is a sport that encompasses all levels of passion because once combined a legacy is ignited and the adrenaline of a hockey player flows through the veins of a fan.  This passion lives on in Cody, Wyoming at the Victor J. Riley Ice Arena and Event Center. Born from the confines of manure, sweat, and sheer determination this ice rink has risen from the ashes of an old beef barn and now houses the community’s passion and love for hockey.
               The Riley Ice Arena was started by the generation of hockey enthusiasts who sought out good old fashioned camaraderie and competition. Where the number of teeth matched a player’s number and intermissions were spent hand shoveling snow and laying fresh ice with a garden hose by both player and fan alike.  The arena’s founders spent countless volunteer hours building, donating, and ultimately creating the hockey community in North West Wyoming. Generations of hockey blood run deep within these walls, inspiring new legions of passionate hockey enthusiasts to continue the legacy.
               Today, the Riley Arena is home to over 110 registered youth players, a thriving adult hockey program, and a first place junior hockey team. Whether our hockey players are 8-year-old inspired NHL dreamers, 17-year-old college prospects, or toothless-adult-gong-show-league players the spirit of hockey continues to live on at the Riley Ice Arena in Cody, Wyoming. Fans of all ages come to rally their support, vibrating the stands and echoing the building with their cheers. Together our fans and players create a hockey community that shows strength, support, and good old fashioned competition and camaraderie.

Park County Youth Hockey Association

Yellowstone Quake 

The Yellowstone Quake is a USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier III Junior ice hockey team playing in the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL). The team plays their home games at Victor Riley Arena  The franchise is a non-profit corporation operated by the Park County Junior A Hockey Program. Click here to visit the Quake website!
